As working artist, Susan believes that sharing the joy of creativity with others nourishes her own work in the studio and has been conducting workshops throughout the Westchester Library System since 2008.
“New artists engaged in creation thrive with the support of a fellow artist who is a bit ahead on the path. Creatives use a particular vocabulary to discuss work, a vocabulary that confirms the process. Encouraging and supporting of a younger artist is delicate work, and I love it.”
She also believes that the emerging artist should experience using artist quality materials.
“Bad paper and sluggish markers are an impediment to creative growth. Without knowing why, a new artist becomes frustrated by the inability to control their work. When a new artist works with better art supplies, artist quality materials, expression becomes easier. The joy of creating, communicating, and sharing blooms.”
